An
official in the Ministry of Housing stressed the principle of partnership with the
private sector, to solve the existing housing problem, and the launch of the
Public Committee of real estate for one of the initiatives designed to organize
the real estate activity and supervision to increase efficiency in the service the
local residential sector.
The
consultant of his excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Al Khayyal stressed in a workshop held Thursday titled (the hoped
role of the public committee of real estate) presenting
in it the Housing Ministry strategy to organize
the residential real estate sector, saying that the ministry is facing many
challenges, most notably the limited suitable housing units for segments of
society, and the difficulty of access
to appropriate housing finance, and the lack of efficiency in the real estate
sector, and relying on government funding.

said that according to the organizing of the committee, the mission is to organize
the real estate activity, supervising it and improving it to increase the efficiency
and encourage investment in it in line with the goals of the economic and social progress.

he reviewed a number of initiatives handled by the Ministry of Housing to support
the real estate sector (the residential in particular)
He
added that the ministry and as a part of its efforts to develop the residential
sector, is paying attention to partnership with the private sector in real
estate development, to transfer lands areas to real estate projects in the
housing service, thus, the ministry of Developing Services Center (Itmam), a
center that facilitates the work of
developers in the private sector by connecting the Developers and government
agencies through related organizations, the ministry approved the sale
on a map project (Wafi), a project through which the Ministry seeks to motivate
developers by allowing them to sell their units on the map during the
construction stage.
In
this regard the Al Kayyal said that the ministry has developed a series of
initiatives, including landlords Union initiative and sorting the residential units
that will provide policy and processes and regulations required for enhancing
the mutually owned real estate, and this is what contributes to the provision
of housing for citizens too.

stressed that the ministry is working to urge landowners to improve their land,
to increase the supply and allow the citizen to own it in a reasonable price,
therefor a charge has been applied for these undeveloped land located within
the populated boundary, which is the term called "white land fee".
